Class Description
This one day course is designed to help prepare participants interested in taking the ICC Permit Technician Certification Exam. This fast paced course sets the stage in a simulated exam test setting with 300 timed “mock” Permit Technician certification exam questions broke into 5 parts each consisting of 5 separate exams. Participants will become familiar with each of the code books and where to find test answers quickly. The exams are designed to help the participants quickly and accurately, find exam answers in the code under timed pressure, preparing them for the actual 60 minute ICC Permit Technician Certification exam. Participants will work independently taking the exams and following each exam will be an opportunity for discussion on the correct answers.
ICC certification exam information will be provided for paper and pencil vs. computer based testing and how and where to register for the exam. After completing the Permit Technician Study Sessions Course, participants should be prepared to sit for the ICC Permit Technician Certification Exam.
Participants are required to bring the following: 2012 IBC (without the Oregon Amendments), 2012 IZC, 2002 Legal Aspects of Code Administration, 2012 ICC Basic Code Enforcement, a calculator and engineering scale. The actual exam can be taken with the 2015 Code Books but to ensure all participants are on the same page, please bring the 2012 code books as listed above.
